Pathfinder Ministries Leader
What we are about:
We aim to foster the spiritual, physical and mental growth of every pathfinder. The goal is to successfully promote each Pathfinder from their respective pathfinder class.
Our overall theme is :"The Advent Message to the youth of TOP and beyond".
Achieving this will require our guidance and investment with each Pathfinder, helping them successfully complete their Pathfinder class and move on to the next level. We are planning to engage and complete some community service activities, fundraisers and various other Pathfinder activities such as camping. We hope to recruit from the community for Pathfinders by mailings and canvassing the community. If they are exposed to this program, some of the benefits include:
- “Learning Christian values
- Developing self-discipline
- Cultivating courage, self-reliance, honesty, loyalty and kindness
- Acquiring hobbies and skills
- Growing in an atmosphere of love and acceptance
- Making friends
- Preparing for church and community responsibilities”
Why we do what we do:
I was a pathfinder myself and my experience was very positive. I enjoyed hiking, swimming and camping as I matriculated through the classes. I had the privilege of training with a group of superb young people on a drill team that won top accolades on the Island of Antigua. I also became a counselor and helped to training up and coming young people in my home church (Villa SDA church) and here at TOP SDA Church.
I hope to learn that some family with youth will be interested in having their youth be trained to develop to their full potential via a program like the Pathfinder program. I can help to train our youth to take stock of their own spiritual life. I can encourage young people to participate in their own church. I can help staff to use their own talents in the club. As a result, it will encourage those family involved to be more committed and to help their family and friends to be involved.
Winning souls for the Kingdom…..
We hope to engage the community, family and friends of the church and club to get young families involved in this program by collaborating with the church in it's overall goal to evangelize (to our community and our world) and by giving our time, talent and treasure to the mission of the church, we hope to live out the Pathfinder pledge and law:
“By the grace of God, I will be pure, and kind, and true. I will keep the Pathfinder Law. I will be a servant of God and a friend to man. The Law is for me to: keep the morning watch, do my honest part, care for my body, Keep a level eye, be courteous and obedient, walk softly in the sanctuary, keep a song in my heart, go on God's errand.”
“Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come,
and the years draw near, when you will say, "I have no pleasure in them;"”
